There are many reasons the millennial will say as the reasons behind collecting vinyl, 'it just sounds better' being one of them, theres something about the quality of vinyl that people just cant escape. although in stark reality did vinyl ever die? many producers throughout the decades have been digging through crates of records looking for those special pieces of wax which contain samples to create the freshest beats and funkiest rhythms, keeping the evolution of digital music carrying on throughout the modern age. 

This project uses aspects of this idea of collecting records for samples, Its a contrast between using old music with new technologies and using the main source where that is documented, the 12inch vinyl record. 

By using a record as a printing plate i could recreate and represent music through colour and texture on a 2dimensional surface, adding areas of colour and texture to depict different styles of music.
